Krafted

A year ago Patricia Fitzpatrick was at a crossroads but chose not to tiptoe into retirement. She put a lump sum of all her retirement pension into a premises on Trimmers Lane, something she believed in…..Krafted has come with no safety nets, no second-guessing. Discussing it with her son Kevin and sister Pauline, she made the clear decision invest and back local Irish craft. She found the premises with help from her sister Pauline, signed the lease, and never looked back. “Hopefully, it pays me back,” Patricia says, “but that’s not why I did it. I love this.”
Pauline, an artist herself, saw the value straight away. “Being surrounded by well-made Irish work raises the bar for my own craft,” she says.
Building the shop was a hands-on effort. Patricia’s son, Kevin, helped turn a bare space into something with real warmth and character. “We repurposed furniture, upcycled what we could, and made it our own,” he says. resulting in a shop that feels welcoming and full of life.
Every piece inside the shop is Irish-made. It would have been easier to play it safe. But as is very evident with Patricia, this labour of love wasn’t didn’t opened for her to take the easy route. She built it on a belief in Irish craft, in taking risks, and in creating something that she hopes the people of the town will love. If you’re in town, drop in and five this brave woman the support she deserves!
