Trax
Well known music store Trax has been at the centre of Wexford’s music scene since the late 90’s.The shop was founded in 1999 by Tony Barnes. and has continued to be owned and operated by the same family ever since – What started as a small 400-square-foot shop has grown into a 3,500-square-foot wonderland for musicians of all levels. Tony, along with his wife Patricia and son Bobby, have spent the last 25 years making sure the Wexford community have had everything they need to keep the harmonies going. The shop began with a focus on dance music and vinyl, but over the years, it’s expanded to stock everything from guitar strings to digital pianos. Tony said “We’ve got customers who bought their first guitar here now bringing in their kids and grandkids, That’s what it’s all about for us” Whether it’s a beginner picking up a tin whistle or a gigging musician in need of some new gear, the team at Trax Music are always on hand to help.
Their reach now goes beyond Wexford, with an online store that serves customers across Ireland and Europe. “We’ve just grown along with Wexford,” added Tony “and it’s so important to see music thrive in our community.”
With 25 years behind them, Tony and his family have no plans to slow down. They’re looking ahead to the next 25 years, continuing to build on the connections that have made Trax such a vital part of Wexford.
